Thanksgiving Week Fishing Report
Sails are back in Guatemala and in big numbers!

"Fishing in Guatemala during this trip has been one of the greatest pleasures ever..."

"To the best day of fishing in my life!"

Guatemala did have a great fishing week during this past Thanksgiving Holiday, with the Hooked Up releasing 58 Sails out of 95...Fishy Business with 45 releases that same Thursday!

Anglers from 8 years to 77 years young fished aboard the Pacific Fins Fleet and later on enjoyed a great Thanksgiving Feast...with both US and Guatemalan traditions.

Weather is gorgeous, sunny but mild...the seas are calm and clear... and the fish are here!

What a way to start the new season...

 Thanksgiving at Pacific Fins

We had the honor of hosting a very family-oriented Thanksgiving Dinner with Turkey and Piglet, prepared with our own local recipies.

Our guests included the O'Keefe  Family - long time friends with Pacific Fins Staff, the McGarey-Dye family of legendary Golf Course Designers as well as our friends from Spain, the Alonzo's.

 El Salvador's International Tournament

Team Pacific Fins earns 2nd Place in the Sailfish Category aboard the FISHY BUSINESS

Representing Guatemala, our team was able to come from behind and earn second place among 45 other teams competing this past November in the XV Torneo Internacional de El Salvador 2009.

Number of releases was not that impressive, but the 92% success made the team members very proud.  Captain Nestor and his crew surpassed expectations as well and the Fishy Business performed up to our standards!

Congratulations to the Rum Runner from Nicaragua, who earned First Place!

 Guatemala's Small Species Tournament

Captain Carlos Diaz's winning streak within Guatemala is back again!

Now with the HOOKED UP, Capt Carlos was able to get a very notorious 2nd Place finish overall and 1st Place for largest fish in Guatemala's Small Species final tournament.

Total Dorados captured by the two-angler Team were 25, averaging around 20 pounds.  This, within a 2 hour span!

 Thanksgiving Week Fishing Report

How about HOOKED UP breaking its personal record on Thanksgiving Day, with 58 releases? Congratulations to Captain Carlos and the McGarey-Dye family for this achievement!

FISHY BUSINESS had 45 this same day, and the anglers responsible for this feat totaled only 26 years of age!

Perla del Mare joined the fun the next day and helped get at total of 111 Sails released by the three boats this past Friday.   Ann Dye, 77 was able to get her first Sailfish ever and enjoyed it tremendously!  Ian, 11 had 8 Sails released by mid-day...afternoon nap well deserved!

Check out the great shots from this week!
