We invite you to volunteer for MarlinFest... lots of help is needed! MarlinFest is a week of fun activities scheduled at the same time as the USVI Open/Atlantic Blue Marlin Tournament (ABMT).

Before laying out the plan, here's a bit of history. Over the past 40+ years our volunteer group has built a blue marlin tournament that many consider to be the most challenging in the sport. It was easy because the Virgin Islands lie in the path of the annual migration of the species. We simply provided the format that was needed to build a World Class Competition. Because the event helps to fund local youth programs, it became nicknamed the "Boy Scout" Tournament. When the sports writers started referring to our being the Super Bowl of Big Game Fishing , we gladly accepted that name too!

So now you get the idea... By creating 'MarlinFest' we are simply adding a spectator's venue to a fishing competition that has already been built! We see it as providing those in the fishing industry with an excuse to visit the Virgin Islands during tournament time!

Who'll be seated in the cheering section? For sure we'll see visitors from the industry, more specifically the boat builders, boat brokers, engine company reps and the tackle manufacturers. We also expect there'll be an increase in the number of visiting friends and family members of the anglers and crews - we know this because for years they've been jealous of the 'Boys of Summer' having all of the fun!

Marlin Fest is being created for the enjoyment of anyone who has fishing in their blood and with the Virgin Islands on their 'to do' list!
